12x16.5 Michelin X TWEEL SSL Hard Surface Traction Skid Steer Tire and Wheel (2-Piece Hub) FITS BOBCAT 700 Series
The Michelin Tweel skid steer tire and wheel is a revolutionary combination of the ride of a pneumatic tire with the reliability and low downtime of a solid tire. Michelin has replaced the need for a tire, wheel and valve with a one piece bolt replacement skid steer tire and wheel. Because the the Michelin Tweel uses flexible poly resin fins in place of air, you no longer have to worry about maintaining air pressures or worrying about downtime due to flat tires. The Michelin Tweel also last two to three times longer than a comparable pneumatic tire, which means you can run your skid steer longer while keeping your operating costs down. The Tweel starts with a flexible yet strong “shear beam” that forms the rim of the wheel. The shear beam consists of two steel hoops with a rubber core, so that stretching and compressing forces that act on different parts of the wheel can be tied together and counteract each other. The rim is connected to the hub with a series of strong but deformable poly resin spokes. When a load is applied, the hub sinks until it is hanging from the upper spokes, so that the wheel has a large footprint for increased traction—while still allowing the tire to rotate.
One of the main advantages to using Michelin construction and earthmover tires is that they feature a combination of innovative tire technology and long lasting rubber compounds. This combination produces tires that reliably perform while saving money with longer tire life and less downtime.
