Important shipping updates regarding COVID-19

PLEASE READ BELOW FOR THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION ON SHIPPING

Please be patient and anticipate possible delays as all transportation companies
are experiencing a significant increase in package deliveries

Many people are asking the same question: is it safe to receive and handle a shipment? The WHO and
CDC have stated that the likelihood of catching the COVID-19 virus by touching cardboard or other or
another shipping container is low.

EXPEDITED SERVICE

We are no longer able to offer guaranteed or expedited service at this time since many states are
imposing travel restrictions and certain routes are being diverted. At this time, UPS and USPS are
operating as normal however delays in delivery may be possible due to the prioritization of delivering
essential medical supplies needed for our Health Care Providers across the country.

BUSINESS DELIVERIES – UPS/USPS

If your business closes and you are expecting a delivery, UPS and USPS may not be able to deliver the
package and at this time, they will not attempt re-delivery and will return the package to us.

If you need the order re-shipped, you will need to pay for that return shipping charge as well as the re-shipment of your order. 

If you decide to return the order, you will be subject to the 15% restocking fee as well as the return ship
charge.

This applies to all orders, including “Free Ship” orders.

How you can help:

If you need to change the delivery address, we encourage you to sign up for UPS My Choice, where you
will be able to re-direct shipment as needed. If you redirect to a UPS Center or Store, the fee is waived.
You must have a MY UPS Choice account to make this change.

If you need us to redirect your shipment, please give us a call. The cost to intercept and redeliver is $17.
This rate is per UPS and not determined by Pete’s Tire Barns.

BUSINESS DELIVERIES VIA FREIGHT/LTL (LESS THAN TRUCKLOAD)

If your business closes and you are expecting a delivery, our freight carriers will be unable to deliver
your order and at this time, they will not attempt re-delivery.

Many of our freight companies are adopting a new “Rapid Return” process which allows them to return
a shipment to its origin as soon as they confirm the consignee is closed.

If you need the order re-shipped, you will need to pay for that return shipping charge as well as the re-shipment of your order. 

If you decide to return the order, you will be subject to the 15% restocking fee as
well as the return ship charge.

How you can help:

If you think there is a possibility your business will close, but you are able to have access to accept the
delivery, let us know and we can request that the freight company call to schedule a delivery
appointment. There is a $25 fee for this service.

Alternately, you can call in your order and we can see if we can deliver your order to a freight terminal
near you for pickup. For this service we will ask that you provide us a copy of your driver’s license that
must match the billing address on file.
