Find the right valve for your tire tube
We get calls everyday from customers looking for help finding the inner tube with the right valve for their tire. Generally the tire tube valve style is determined by the type of tire it is being used in. For example most lawn and garden tires feature a TR13 valve. This valve will line up with the hole in most lawn and garden rims and stick out the right amount for proper inflation. However some tubes sizes are available in multiple sizes depending on how the tire is used. This commonly occurs in farm tractor tire tubes. Many sizes of farm tractor tire tubes are available with more then one style of valve. That is because each valve has a unique set of features and a little more research is needed to find the right one.
Below is a chart of the different type of tire tube valves and the characteristics of each one. To find the right tube for your tire, first you must locate the tire size and see what tubes are available in that size. If a tube is available with more then one valve, use the chart below to correctly match the tire tube valve to your application.
TR4/TR6This valve is commonly found in ATV Tire tubes. The valve has a straight metal stem that is 1.16 inches long. The threads are .305-32 and the valve comes with two hex nuts that are used on the outside of the rim. This ATV tire tube is designed to be used in a 0.333 inch rim hole and has a maximum inflation pressure of 60psi. The valve is not bendable and cannot be used with liquid ballast.
TR13This valve is commonly found on passenger, light truck, front tractor, lawn tractor and industrial tire tubes. The valve has a straight rubber stem that is 1.38 inches long. This tire tube is designed to be used in a 0.453 inch rim hole and has a maximum inflation pressure of 60psi. The valve is not bendable and is not designed to be used with liquid ballast. To use this tire tube in a 0.625 inch rim hole requires a B6 bushing.
TR15This valve is commonly found on front tractor and lawn tractor tire tubes. The valve has a straight rubber stem that is 1.38 inches long. This tire tube is designed to be used in a 0.625 inch rim hole and has a maximum inflation pressure of 60psi. The valve is not bendable and is not designed to be used with liquid ballast.
TR15CWThis valve is commonly found on passenger, light truck, front tractor, lawn tractor and industrial tire tubes. The valve has a straight rubber stem that is 1.38 inches long. This tire tube is designed to be used in a 0.625 inch rim hole and has a maximum inflation pressure of 60psi. The valve is not bendable and can be used with liquid ballast. This valve is the same as the TR15, but is designed for use with liquid ballast. The two rings at the top of the valve indicate it is a TR15CW instead of a TR15
TR135This valve is commonly found on light truck, trailer and industrial tire tubes. The valve has a straight rubber covered metal stem that is 1.38 inches long. This tire tube is designed to be used in a 0.625 inch rim hole and has a maximum inflation pressure of 60psi. The valve is provided straight, but can be bent by hand. The TR135 valve is not designed to be used with liquid ballast.
TR150This valve is commonly found on light truck and front tractor tire tubes. The valve has a straight rubber covered metal stem that is 3.5 inches long. This tire tube is designed to be used in a 0.625 inch rim hole and has a maximum inflation pressure of 100psi. The valve is provided straight, but can be bent by hand. The TR150 valve is not designed to be used with liquid ballast.
TR300This valve has limited use on light truck and bus tire tubes. The valve has a metal stem that is 1.97 inches long. This valve has a maximum inflation pressure of 150psi and can be replaced by the TR15CW for most applications. The TR300 valve is not designed to be used with liquid ballast.
SP1000This valve is commonly found on grader, off road and flotation tire tubes. The valve requires an extension to be used. This tire tube is designed to be used in a 0.818 inch rim hole or a slotted rim. The SP1000 has a maximum inflation pressure of 150psi can be used with liquid ballast.
TR218This valve is commonly found on rear tractor, front tractor, floatation, forestry and lawn tractor tire tubes. The valve has a metal stem that is 0.81 inches long. This tire tube is designed to be used in a 0.625 inch rim hole and locked in place using the supplied LN10 Rim Nut. The TR218 valve has a maximum inflation pressure of 150psi. The valve is not bendable and can be used with liquid ballast.
TR220This valve is commonly found on road grader tire tubes. The valve has a metal stem that is 1.19 inches long. This tire tube is designed to be used in a 0.625 inch rim hole and locked in place using the supplied LN10 Rim Nut. The TR220 valve has a maximum inflation pressure of 150psi. The valve is not bendable and can be used with liquid ballast.
TR87SThis valve is commonly found on industrial, mining and lawn tractor tire tubes. The valve has a metal stem that is 1.75 inches long straight or 1.31 inches long bent. This valve comes bent on some sizes and straight on others. This tire tube is designed to be used in a 0.453 inch rim hole and has a maximum inflation pressure of 150psi. The TR87S valve is not designed to be used with liquid ballast.
JS2This valve is commonly found on industrial, trailer and lawn tractor tire tubes. The valve has a metal stem that is 2.20 inches long. This tire tube is designed to be used in a 0.453 inch rim hole and has a maximum inflation pressure of 60psi. The TR87S valve is not designed to be used with liquid ballast.
TR76This valve is commonly found on roller or compactor tire tubes. The valve has a metal stem that is 3.39 inches long. This tire tube has a maximum inflation pressure of 150psi. The TR76 valve is not designed to be used with liquid ballast.
TR440 - TR445This style valve is often found on light truck, truck, bus and mining tire tubes. The valve on this tube is factory bent, available in lengths from 3 inches to 5.7 inches this valve is designed to be used in a slotted rim. This tube not intended for liquid ballast and has a maximum inflation pressure of 150 psi.
V3.08.2This style valve is often found on truck and bus tire tubes and includes the V3.02.14 valve extension which makes the bent valve length 5.45 inches.
