Nokian Snow Tires

Every winter, for weeks on end, Mother Nature bombards cities around the country with hail, snow, ice, rain, sleet. No one thinks it’s funny, but she taunts us every year and gives us beautiful summers so that we will forget all about her winter abuse and neglect to get our snow tires ready in the fall in anticipation of her next visit. Some people don’t think they need them. Others buy snow tires, but aren’t making the best choice.

Who Needs Snow Tires?
Many people are unwittingly driving around on their all-season tires assuming that by “all-season”, those tires are effective and proficient during all seasons. For summer, spring and fall, that general idea is ok. For winter, that is an unfortunate and incorrect assumption. All-season tires are not designed with sufficient traction needed to drive in snow and ice. Alternatively, snow tires are specifically engineered with a gripping tread pattern to keep you from being the person that gets stuck blocking the freeway entrance while an entire turning lane of cars honks less than appreciatively at your vehicle dancing and spinning frenziedly in the snow. If you live anywhere with inclement weather, you should not view snow tires as an avoidable choice.

Why are Nokian Snow Tires Exceptional?
There are several quality snow tires on the market for consumers who choose to take the requisite precautions for winter vehicle safety. However, Nokian snow tires are exceptional, having received high ratings from consumerreports.com for handling more securely and braking more quickly and efficiently than its counterparts. Specifically, the Nokian WR G3 was noted respectably for the life of its tread and its durability and traction during varying winter conditions. This stellar performance does not mean the consumers must pay premium fuel prices in exchange for the benefit. These tires perform well with above average ratings for fuel consumption.

When Should you Get Snow Tires?
When fall shows up, many people are still holding on to summer or busy with kids and a new school schedule. Even when a light snow falls around November or December, consumers are often still wrapped up in their daily lives and haven’t started to think about vehicle maintenance or safety. The only ones really focused on the inevitable are retailers who (hopefully) have stocked up on the snow tires that everyone will be rushing in to buy after the first Nor’easter.

Instead of waiting until the first day that you slip and slide home from work, buy your Nokian snow tires when the leaves are turning. After a storm you may find long lines to order tires and you may have to wait for your tires to be backordered. Additionally, this winter’s tires were likely made during this past summer that you spent at the beach with snow and tires being the furthest thing from your mind. This means that only so many were made. This could genuinely put you at a disadvantage if you are a tardy arrival to the tire store. Avoid long lines, stress, and inconvenience.
